Accessibility Statement

How we make NEAPES usable for everyone, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.

Last updated

1.Our commitment

Everyone should be able to learn about NEAPES, run a business on it, and order from the restaurants and stores that use it. That includes people who use a screen reader, keyboard, voice control, magnification or captions. Accessibility is part of how we design, build and test, not a separate project.

2.The standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on www.neapes.com and on the online ordering websites we build for businesses.

3.What we do

  • Pages use proper headings, landmarks, labels and alternative text, so assistive technology can read them.
  • Everything can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and no keyboard traps in menus or dialogs.
  • Text and controls are designed for sufficient color contrast, in both light and dark themes.
  • Layouts reflow on small screens and when zoomed to 200% without content being cut off.
  • Animation is reduced for people who turn on “reduce motion” on their device.
  • Forms say what each field is for, and explain errors in text, not color alone.
  • We check new features with the keyboard and a screen reader as part of building them.

4.Known limitations

We know some parts are not yet as accessible as we want:

  • Some older blog images and product photos have incomplete descriptions.
  • Pages run by other companies — such as payment pages, embedded maps and social media — are outside our control.
  • On a business's ordering site, the business adds its own menu photos and text, and may not describe every image.

We are working through these and review this statement when we make changes.

5.Browsers and assistive technology

The site is built for the current versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox on desktop and mobile, and to work with screen readers such as VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), NVDA (Windows) and TalkBack (Android).

6.Feedback and help

If something on our site or in our software is hard to use, or you need information in another format, tell us. We aim to reply within 2 business days, and we will help you get what you need in the meantime.

Please tell us the page address and what happened, and which device, browser and assistive technology you use.

7.For businesses using NEAPES

The online ordering websites we provide are built to the same standard and each has its own accessibility page. You can help by writing clear item names and descriptions and adding short descriptions to your photos. If a customer reports a problem with your site, forward it to us and we will fix it.
