The math

What you keep from one delivery order

Same order, same food. The difference is who takes the cut. Here is what lands in your account per order.

Delivery-app figures use DoorDash's published US Marketplace delivery commissions (Basic 15%, Plus 25%, Premier 30%), which include card processing. The NEAPES column subtracts the 4% platform fee and standard Stripe card processing (2.9% + 30¢). It leaves out the $45 monthly plan, which also covers your POS, loyalty and marketing. Delivery with your own drivers; driver costs aren't included.

Questions owners ask

DoorDash alternative questions

How much does DoorDash charge restaurants?

DoorDash publishes three US Marketplace plans: Basic at 15%, Plus at 25% and Premier at 30% commission on delivery orders, and 6% on pickup orders, with no monthly fee. Customers also pay their own delivery and service fees on top.

What does NEAPES cost instead?

$45 per month plus a 4% platform fee per online order, with no setup fees. Card processing through Stripe is separate. On a $50 order you keep about $46.25, compared with $37.50 on a 25% commission plan.

Should I quit DoorDash and Uber Eats?

Not necessarily. Many restaurants keep the apps for new customers who are browsing, and move regulars to their own website, where every order costs far less and the customer relationship is yours. A card in every bag and a first-order reward make the switch easy.

Who delivers the orders?

Your own drivers. You set the delivery radius, fee, minimum order and an optional free-delivery threshold, and checkout only accepts addresses you can reach. Many owners start with pickup only, where the savings are immediate.

Do I get the customer's contact details?

Yes. Every customer who orders on your website joins your own customer list, so you can send SMS and email offers, run loyalty points and bring them back on slow days, without paying a marketplace to reach them.

How do online orders reach the kitchen?

They land on the Online Orders screen of ScomsPOS, the POS included in your plan, next to walk-in sales. Staff accept them, kitchen tickets print, and customers get email (and text in the US) updates as the order moves along.
