Restaurant grader questions

How are the scores worked out?

Every score is computed by fixed rules, not by AI. Each check (for example, whether customers can see your menu, or how your Google rating compares with nearby restaurants) is worth a set number of points, and the same restaurant gets the same score every time the underlying facts are the same.

Where does AI come in?

Only in the wording. Once the scores and issues are fixed by the rules, AI turns them into a short plain-English summary. It does not change any score, issue or number.

What does the grader check?

How you compare with nearby restaurants of the same cuisine on Google rating and reviews; how complete your Google listing is; whether your website opens, shows up well on Google and lets customers see your menu, order online and find your hours, address and phone; your menu dish by dish (prices, descriptions, photos, sections, dietary marks, whether Google can read your dishes and whether people can order from it — picture menus too); and whether your website and Google listing agree. In all we run 120+ checks on a typical website, including Google's own phone test of your site (speed, how easily Google can read the page, how easy it is to use, and up-to-date setup). The results show exactly how many checks were run for your business: anything we couldn't check is left out, never counted against you.

How is "your score with NEAPES" worked out?

With the same rules as your score. We re-score your restaurant counting only what NEAPES provides: a restaurant website that Google understands, with your menu, online ordering, hours, address and phone, plus help completing your Google profile. Your Google rating, number of reviews and page speed are left exactly as they are today, because no one can promise those.

How is the missed-revenue range calculated?

It estimates yearly sales from customers you are likely missing, using the same fixed rules for every restaurant: 2,000–6,000 local searches a month for restaurants like yours; the share of those clicks you miss, which grows as your score drops (up to 30% at a score of 0); 1 in 10 of those clicks becoming a customer; a $28 average order; and 3 orders from each new customer in the year they find you, because a customer you win comes back. It is an estimate of the size of the opportunity, not a promise, and it does not use your own sales data.

Is it really free? Why do you ask for my email?

Yes. The scores and the revenue estimate are shown straight away with no sign-up. Enter your email to see the full report, with the competitor comparison and the list of fixes, right away on the page; we also email you a copy so you can keep it and share it with whoever looks after your website.

Does it work for restaurants outside the US?

It works for restaurants in the US and in Nepal. For Nepal the estimate is in rupees, with Nepal assumptions: 500–1,500 local searches a month, a Rs 900 average order and 3 orders from each new customer in their first year (the click and conversion rules are the same). Other countries aren't covered yet.
